Boca Grande Pass and Charlotte Harbor is world famous for many reasons......... There are a few different ways to catch the Silver King, the only big game fish that is able to be found and caught within 100 yards of the shoreline. I will guide you to the full fishing experience the Boca Grande area has to offer. Weather you would like a total Tarpon trip or a Grand Slam charter, I will bring you to the fish!!!!!

Tens of thousands of tarpon migrate as part of their spawning process through the Charlotte Harbor area from mid-March to mid-July. These giant tarpon range from 100 - 250 pounds, the largest in the world are found 100 yards off the shoreline in 35-80 feet of water. On average, during your tarpon fishing charter in Boca Grande, Florida, you can expect to see thousands of tarpon rolling and jumping. These fish will entertain you with an acrobatic display throughout the day.  A Tarpon fishing trip in Boca Grande averages 6 to 15 hookups with some days up to 25 hookups. There are several techniques used to catch the Silver King.  Beach / Sight casting to them is the most rewarding. Finding a pod of happy fish that are eager to strike at either a fly, plug, a live sardine or crab is quite the rush, and when the fish goes airborne, thats when the sweat really starts perculating and adrenaline flows like a wide open fire hydrant. Being able to see the fish you want to bring boatside and then hooking it, is the pinnacle of satisfation a sportsman can discover, especially when the prize is caught on ultra-light tacle and weighing in at over 150 to 250pounds.  Fishing backcountry / Harbor area is the most tranquil way to cross paths with the magnificent species. It's like your in your own little world, no other boats or anglers just you and the fish and a screaming drag. This is also where the most tail walking is done by your bounty, since the water depth is so shallow, the fish have a tendancy to have alot of air time since they do not have any depth to sound in, just a flat to run accross and plenty of air to jump in. Then of course is the most popular and productive method, deep water drift jigging the famous "Big Mouth" Boca Grande Pass. You want to get in the chair and test your mettle-- time and time again, in a single trip? let me guide you to the larger fish in the pods that swim the pass and test your physical abilities. Forget the gym, come on down and get you some!!! GUARANTEED!!!!!!! Live bait is also used occasionaly in the pass during crab runs or, "Hill Tides" . This is when there is a strong outgoing tide that flushes crabs out of charlotte harbor out to sea so they may execute their reproduction process. While millions of crabs are flushing out of the big mouth, (Pass) the taarpon are having a buffet style feeding frenzie on the little critters. I always have crabs on board and am geard up and ready for the occurance. It is usually predictable within 4-10 days but is different every year, if you experiance this event, you will always want to book your trip around the predicted hill tide dates, it's just plain increadible, even to myselfe- year after year, I cant wait for the hill tides to flow.
